The Antietam Valley’s storm drain stenciling project is a cooperative effort of the Mt. Penn Water Authority’s Source Water Protection program and the Mt. Penn Borough and Lower Alsace Township’s (MS4) storm water pollution prevention program.  Two campers, Ava Adamczyk and Lyndsey Kline, from the Antietam Valley Playground program designed the storm drain stencil shown above.  The stencil will be painted on the street curbs near storm drains throughout the Antietam Valley by local volunteers, such as boy/girl scout troops. The stenciling project is aimed at preventing trash, pet waste, household chemicals and other pollutants from entering the Antietam Creek.
