Due to a lack of precipitation over the last few months, the Mount Penn Borough Municipal Authority (MPBMA) is issuing a Voluntary Water Conservation Notice to all MPBMA customers.  A voluntary 10-15% reduction in water use is requested at this time.

The following non-essential water uses are discouraged:

  • Watering of lawns, gardens, trees, and shrubs
  • Washing motor vehicles
  • Washing paved surface areas such as sidewalks, driveways, patios, etc.
  • Water used for ornamental purposes such as fountains
  • Serving water in public eating places unless requested by a customer
  • Filling or topping off pools
  • Using fire hydrants for any purpose other than fighting fires

Also, customers should check their internal plumbing for any leaks that could be repaired, which would also save them money on their water bill.

This voluntary water conservation request will remain in effect until further notice.  MPBMA will provide further updates as needed.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
